We got the idea to Trash my Wedding dress from a magazine article we read about 3 months prior to our wedding in June 2009 and realized that it was a brilliant idea. I'm not much of a dress girl but my mom and dad bought me the perfect wedding dress; everything I had ever imagined for my special day. Since they bought the dress we thought it was very important to get their blessing to destroy it. Mom was skeptical at first, then I told her that by the time we have kids the dress will be out of style. They talked about it and decided it was a great idea so then we began the planning process. We kept setting dates with our photographer and plans seemed to keep falling though so we decided to do it on our one year anniversary.

The idea to Trash my dress while riding our mountainboards was the perfect way to capture our lifestyle. We started our day at sunrise in Leadville, Colorado up in the mining district and ended with a perfect double rainbow in Evergreen, CO. Our day included a visit to many amazing places; we cut the dress at Clinton Reservoir, Longboarded 10 mile canyon, got bloody on the Silverplume Trail and got dirty at the Dirt Park in Empire, Colorado.

I want to Thank my husband for being so amazing. I would also like to Thank my parents; Mick & Laurie Becker for buying me the perfect dress, Your the best!! Thank you PowerBar, Altitude Sickness boardshop, DirtstarArmy.com, Osiris, SRH, PrettyTough, MBS, and DrRyde.com. Thanks to Dan Dworkin and Carley Grier for spending 15 hours with us helping in every way. Last but certainly not least we would like to thank our photographer Jim Morris from Red Wolf Studios for capturing the most amazing memories that we will always cherish.

The event was awesome! About 20+ people attended the gathering over the weekend and people traveled from as far as Amarillo, TX to join us!(Great meeting Mike and Garrett). The games and skills challenges added entertainment to the already fun Riders' Festival. Joseph Ponce de Leon won the Goal Kick(kick a size 1 soccer ball into the open end of a kicker while on your board) and Cole Ship won the Dirt Challenge(like "skate" on a mountainboard) and the Switch Slalom for the pro division. Free riding was also part of the agenda so we took a few runs on the Historic SilverPlume Trail. Everyone had a great time! New Riders' made an appearance at our event and we encourage everyone to continue bringing new people to these gatherings. We hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did. See you all for the "Trash the Dress" Party.

The hijacking of a Northwest Orient Airlines flight in 1971 by one Dan (D. B.) Cooper, who parachuted from the plane and escaped with $200,000, is the only unsolved crime of its kind in U.S. history. The following year a United Airlines flight was hijacked by a man who parachuted from the aircraft with $500,000. Identified as Richard McCoy, a Mormon Sunday School teacher and criminal justice student at Brigham Young University, the hijacker was convicted and sentenced to 45 years, but he escaped and was killed in a shoot-out with law enforcement officials in 1974. Both Rhodes and Calame were federal agents in Utah who worked on the McCoy case and believe that Cooper and McCoy were one and the same, a contention buttressed by the criminals' identical MOs and physical evidence. The argument is convincing, the book dramatic. Photos not seen by PW.
Copyright 1991 Reed Business Information, Inc.
